Longest Continuous Contribution to Kalam Ezhuthu Pattu (30 Years)
Kadannamanna Sreenivasan is a distinguished artist who has dedicated his life to the preservation, practice, and promotion of the traditional ritual art form Kalam Ezhuthu Pattu. He was born on May 23, 1988, to Kadannamanna Kuruppath Narayanan Kutty Kurup and Alanallur Kizheppattu Santha Kumari, into a family with a cultural legacy of over 300 years in this revered art tradition.
From the age of four, he began learning the vocal traditions of Kalam Pattu from his grandfather, Kadannamanna Narayana Kurup, and the intricate art of Kalam Ezhuthu from his father. At the young age of seven, he made his Kalam Pattu debut at Muthukurusikkavu Ayyappa Temple, Keezhattur, Malappuram. Since then, he has been actively engaged in this sacred ritual art form for more than 30 continuous years.
With a vision to popularize Kalam Pattu and introduce it to the wider public, he has been conducting Kalam Pattu Workshops in schools and colleges since 2015. He has successfully completed 295 workshops, including sessions at renowned institutions such as the University of Calicut, Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, Union Christian College, Aluva, Kerala Varma College, Thrissur, Victoria College, Palakkad, Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode, Kalladi MES College, Mannarkkad, Government College, Malappuram, and Government College, Chittur, along with various live programs on social media platforms.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of traditional arts, he has received several prestigious honors, including the Kerala Book of Records, Genius Book of Records, Kerala Kshethrakala Academy Award, Kerala Folklore Academy Award, Yuvakala Nipuna Award, Tilaka Smrithi Award, State Pratheeksha Award, Shiva Shakthi Award, and the Yuva Prathibha Award.
